This privacy policy explains what information LifeCost.in ("we", "us") collects when you use https://lifecost.in, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information you enter in calculators
All LifeCost.in calculators run entirely in your web browser. The figures you type — income, expenses, loan amounts, savings and so on — are processed on your own device and are not sent to or stored on our servers.
2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages and the referring website. We use this to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

- Hosting: the site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages securely.
3. Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements on this site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block cookies, the calculators will still work, but ads may be less relevant.
4. Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and to fix any issue you report, and we do not sell it or add you to a mailing list.
5. How we use and share information
We use the information above to run, secure and improve the site and to show advertising. We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers described above (Google and Cloudflare), or where required by law.
6. Data retention and security
Analytics and advertising data are kept by Google according to its own retention settings and policies. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your query. We use HTTPS across the site to protect data in transit.
7. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you may ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or withdraw consent. Email hello@lifecost.in and we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Children
LifeCost.in is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
9. Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, such as government portals. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last changed.
